Great vacation! There was a lot to do or nothing but chill, you choose. There were planned activities if you wanted to join in or just watch. All the pools were perfect or you could walk a few steps and be on the pristine beach. Food was good, drinks were plenty. Most of all, EVERY staff member was polite, attentive and happy to be there.

Stayed here many times before and always lives up to very high expectations. Staff always friendly, courteous and cheerful - nothing is too much trouble for them.

First stay at a Riu property
We booked this resort after lots of research on reviews and Youtube videos.Our expectations were high. It didn't take long before our expectations were exceeded in every way possible! It is a beautiful resort that is meticulously maintained. Our room was stunning and spacious. This is truly an all-inclusive resort. They do not "nickel and dime". Everything is included. Lots of dining/restaurant options and the food quality is excellent. ...But what really makes this resort special are the employees. The service was fantastic.....ALWAYS. Every employee we encountered and/or observed was extremely helpful and friendly. I was struck by the way the employees worked together and helped each other. They genuinely seemed happy to be working here. The only way I can explain it is there must be some sort of intentional culture in place that is driving this. Very impressive. Highly recommend!

Highly reccomend
Highly reccomend, we have just had our honeymoon here, the hotel is exceptional. It's in a perfect location, with fantastic views. The hotel is immaculate with staff constantly cleaning all areas all times of day from morning through the night.The rooms are incredibly clean and the fridge is replenished daily, we didn't get milk for coffee, but there is a longue room which provides coffee as well has a coffee bar in the lobby serving cake and coffee. There's complimentary toiltries in the room which are nice quality. The food is fantastic with lots of choice, fresh and super tasty. We only did the alicarte restaurant once,( the Japanese) we didn't find this overly fab so stuck with the buffet lunch and dinner which really is gorgeous. The staff are incredible in both restaurants and the service is 5*. The staff in this hotel make it, they are friendly, happy, efficient and considering the scale of the hotel make it personable, remembering what drinks you have etc. I can not fault the service, on out first night we had a few issues with the electrics in our room. And within minutes it was sorted out. The pools are cleaned daily and through the evening and everything is situated close to the pools, didn't eat at the pool bar pepes, but did go daily to the buffet restaurant which is amazing fresh, salad is divine, again incredible staff. I'd not reccomend the pool with the swim up bar , has previous comments, it's quite loud with guest who drunk all day and DO NOT GET out of the pool and I'd guess use it for the loo, needless to say didn't go in there! The other pools are lovely and the beach is gorgeous with again incredible service from the lovely staff who are constantly asking If you would like drinks. One morning it rained and We did have a walk through to the other Riu 's, I would say hands down this hotel is by far the best. I'd say to anyone stay away from yucatan, unless you are wanting a 2star hotel? It's filthy! I would say to anyone who is thinking of going on the day trip to cancun from the hotel which granted is free, is not what they advise, we were 10 hours in total which we were told would be a 5 hr venture in to cancun with some shopping and siteseeing, after dropping off pple all over and 2 hrs left in jewelry store untill our next bus turned up, it was a long day to see not very much. We have loved Mexico,would definitely come again and most definitely stay at riu riveria maya. It is grand, beautiful but by far it's the staff who mke it, from bar staff, who make very good cocktails to the cleaning staff who do an incredible job, the restaurant staff who are exceptional. I would reccomend to anyone it's very worthy of it's 5 stars.
