Enjoyable stay. Great location. Very friendly staff.

The hotel is older but rooms are clean and pretty well maintained. Staff were for the most part, very friendly and helpful. The waitresses in the Coral restaurant at breakfast were uniformly friendly and helpful. We were very impressed with their service. Smitty on the beach was always smiling and willing to set up any type of chair arrangement. He’s right there when you arrive at your palapa, ready to help. Maid service was also five star. Our maid, Valerie, was incredibly sweet and did a fantastic job cleaning our room each day. The hotel itself is in a great location. The grounds are well maintained. The beach is beautiful and there are many good, reasonable restaurants within a short walking distance. Many shops for souvenirs in the hotel and across the street. We were recognized as diamond elite members - we received free breakfast each morning and a free palapa rental for the week. The breakfast buffet was wonderful. We also received a 15 percent discount on food and beverages at the hotel…which we didn’t use. We received two bottles of champagne for our anniversary which was very much appreciated. The only reason for the missing star was our room location and air conditioning in the room was poor. Our first room was overlooking the parking lot and had two double beds instead of a king size. We requested a different room for the next 3 days and were told each day to check back the next day. On the fourth day we finally got a garden view room with two doubles after being told there was no record of us requesting a different room. We were made to check out at 11 and couldn’t get into our next room until 4. Don’t expect them to accommodate any special requests or to get an upgrade for IHG elite status.

A fantastic stay at Holiday Inn

My 22 year old daughter and I had a fantastic week staying at the Holiday Inn Aruba. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful in all aspects- from management to front desk to housekeeping to all of the dining experiences. While the rooms were a little “tired”, they were clean and comfortable. The outdoor areas were spectacular! The pools were gorgeous, the beach had pristine, white sand, the shade of the umbrellas, palapas and cabanas were crucial to protect against sunburn. I recommend reserving a cabana in advance of your visit (available 2 weeks in advance) if you think you want one! They were all reserved and unavailable to us during our stay. We were, however, able to rent palapas and umbrellas so we were comfortable. We ate in all of the restaurants at the resort and had great meals. I definitely recommend reservations days in advance so some advance planning is helpful. One thing to note, there is a beach bar located adjacent to the hotel on the North side which played its music until 2:00 AM during the weekend. Our first room was next to this bar and we had a difficult time sleeping. Hotel management was nicely responsive to our complaint and was able to move our room to another, quieter, part of the hotel. So if you’re young and hip, you might like the vibe on this side of the hotel. If you’re a person who likes earlier sleep, I would request a room in another section. We would definitely return to the Holiday Inn. They took great care of us!

Great food experience, some staff were rude

I had a wonderful time at the Holiday Inn Aruba! Huge thanks to the amazing reception team for being so welcoming and helpful. Special shoutout to Mariane, Juliet, Carolina, Willy, and Andres who took great care of us during breakfast, lunch, and dinner—your service was truly outstanding. Also, Jhon and Aaron at the reception bar were fantastic and made our evenings even more enjoyable. The only downside was with the All-Inclusive plan—some of the staff seemed to expect a 20% tip based on the original ticket amount, even though the bill shows $0. It created a bit of confusion and awkwardness. Aside from that, everything else was great!

Very nice stay here, only a couple of things to complain about!

Overall I was very impressed with this resort! Pros: The pool area is GORGEOUS. Nothing I would change. Tons of chairs, lots of opportunities for shade, felt very spread out. Restaurants/bars were all great. Loved having the options. Loved the 2 for 1 drinks every day from 3-5pm, that was an unexpected perk! Staff was great. Being right on the beach is amazing. Lots of sand. Having the Frank's Watersports right there for parasailing was great, made that very easy! Loved the area in between 2 of the towers that had hammocks and various seating areas. Location is great, right across the street from restaurants and bars! Felt very safe and walkable. Cons: The rooms being 2 doubles was harsh. I must have missed this when I booked, so my fault, but honestly this is the only reason why we wouldn't go back here. It's just a little too tight for sleeping. If we went back it would only be with my husband and I and we would need to get 1 King bed. But 2 doubles is not comfortable for a family of 4 (if your two teenage boys don't want to sleep together, which mine don't!) Straight up lie: The advertisement for a tennis court and basketball court- yikes!! Ignore the picture on their website haha. The actual tennis courts are very very rundown. And the basketball court was mangled up in the corner, so basically nonexistent. They did have a "basketball hoop" inside the kids club but it was not a high quality one at all, made out of plastic, looked like it would tip forward at any moment. They even told my kids to make sure not to dunk on it. Pro tip: Skip the buffet breakfast. For the 4 of us it cost us $100 and the food was mediocre. Instead, walk 2 minutes to Dushi Bagels & Burgers. Breakfast was delicious and perfect and only $77.

    Great food and spectacular view!

The food was delicious and the view was spectacular. The restaurant is right pm the beach so you get an incredible breeze. We loved our waitress Veronica! She was the best - so attentive and friendly. The service was also super quick. We will definitely plan to come back on our next visit!
