Fantastic location for this beautiful hotel. Staff work tirelessly to keep the grounds pristine. Rooms are lovely, and although the bathrooms could do with a little updating they are absolutely fine. Staff overall seem happy and welcoming, although this was not always the case with waiting staff on restaurants. During our week as 'preferred' guests we tried several restaurants. The temporary location of the buffet is not great and has no ambience. Sakura - tried tepanyaki and general menu. Food was of a high standard, although service felt very rushed with plates being taken before last mouthful of food is finished. Caoba - used twice for breakfast and once for lunch. Buffet food very good with much freshly cooked on demand. Some staff here often seemed as if serving guests was tedious, but I wonder if this is simply down to a language barrier at times. Noor - tried this on one evening. The starters were delicious. However main courses were disappointing. The salmon was overcooked and with no sauce was very dry. The lamb vindaloo, although lovely tender meat, had no chilli heat and lacked any real flavour. Coastal grill - tried this one lunchtime. Food was delicious, very tasty, and staff very happy and welcoming. I definitely recommend the flap meat. Chinola - tried this twice (second time unintentionally when it had moved location!). On the beach the atmosphere was fantastic with good entertainment. The breads and dips were good as were the 'origins'. However the main course meat was dry and overcooked. The short ribs were very tough to the point of being inedible. Cocktails were quite syrupy. Aroma cafe - wow! Amazing coffee, cakes and snacks. All staff extremely friendly and helpful. Mare - we used this restaurant the most for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Good choices at each meal with high quality food. The staff were generally good, especially Nancy, although we were disappointed on our last morning to be pressed into completing a 5* review from a QR code by one of the other waitresses. She actually tried to type it herself on my phone! Preferred lounge - we used this quiet area every day. Snacks provided are very high quality. The stand out person here is Johan. His cocktails are fantastic.....especially the old fashioned expertly smoked, the best mojitos and pornstar martinis. Blue bar - this is at the preferred club pool. Olga and team expertly make great drinks with a smile. The reception staff are very helpful and reactive to issues raised. Two slight issues were dealt with expertly and quickly. Highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return. Thank you all for such a good week of relaxation.

Wonderful stay
Beautiful vacation. Beautiful grounds. My kids loved the kids club and especially the slime activity! Thank you for Ana & Maria you are amazing!!

My wife and I visited Secrets La Romana in September 2025 for a vacation. Overall, the resort is in a beautiful location that feels secluded from the area. We stayed in the preferred club and would not recommend anyone book that as it did not feel “exclusive” for the extra money. The staff never checked that we were in preferred club when using the area of the beach or different pool so we always wondered what stopped others from using it. The wait staff also tended to the entire beach so there wasn’t an “elevated” service. We also upgraded to an ocean front room and unfortunately the view is blocked by trees in front of the balcony. Overall, it was an “average” stay and I would want to stay somewhere different next trip versus returning back here to experience another resort.

Great time at Secrets Bayhibe
Really first rate place. Enjoyed it immensley. Food was top notch. We had steak twice and loved it. Staff is really friendly. There were absolutely no exceptions. I would go back again. The only issue is the nightlife. There wasn't much of it. But outside of that, 10/10

The location is wonderful! I haven't seen such beautiful grounds in a long time – very large, with lots of perfectly maintained plants everywhere! There's plenty of room to stroll. The beach is excellent, with plenty of shade and many nice pools! There are nine restaurants with varied menus, plus bars, coffee shops, and lounges. The rooms are spotlessly clean. I can't say the price is low, as they always offer drinks and food for an extra fee. The entire resort is spotlessly clean! The entire staff is very friendly and helpful, always ready to help! What I didn't like: terrible internet (14-17 Mbps) and often poorly prepared food (undercooked, even though the ingredients are good).
