Outstanding resort
Our second visit here and very pleased! Same employees as last year, great food, clean resort, and very helpful and nice staff. Somehow we got the best room! Building G, room 434. The view is outstanding, but anywhere in this resort has views of the mountains, ocean and cruise ships going by. If the room were updated a bit, I’d give it 6 stars. But, we only spend time sleeping in there.

A home from home with friendly staff, great views and a good choice in food and drinks.
A warm, friendly welcome as always! It was great to be back. Great location, beautiful views and a clean, modern room complete with all amenities in the Oceans at Divi. I highly recommend this hotel and am very much looking forward to return.

Would not stay here again.
We booked a week here through Delta vacations somewhat last minute and we were not impressed and honestly were frustrated for much of the trip. Our package was all inclusive---which I do not recommend at all. Even with an "all inclusive" package you are given bills constantly, some of the "included" restaurants apply surcharges, you receive a bill for every drink you order and are expected to tip on each drink and each meal rather than the way many all inclusives work. When we checked in they said they were "upgrading us" to their Oceans building that was brand new, so instead of the beachfront accommodation we booked we were next to a highway up the hill. Don't take the "upgrade" the only benefit is the Nespresso machine. The towel situation is ridiculous. They run out of towels, and then they don't offer towels before certain times of the day, it's not user friendly and always toting a towel around with you because you can't pick up one when you'd like gets frustrating. The dining options are very basic, the only place open for breakfast that's included in the "all inclusive" has a mandatory surcharge and has tons of tables for parties of 2 but few for parties of 4 if you want to sit outside. Their "charge" for this restaurant is pretty pricey too considering it's a buffet, it felt very overpriced. Wine choices are very limited and both bars and restaurants always were out of things when we'd place orders. The room was fine but the bathroom amenities were sparse and it was always a random assortment of shampoo, one day it was one brand, the next day they'd leave another type and so on, at the end of the week they'd left 4 different brands of products. If you're just sleeping here and getting out for the day it would probably be fine but it's not a place I'd recommend and we would not stay here again.

Very good hotel for a quick getaway
We stayed 5 days at this hotel on an all-incusive airline package tour. We very much enjoyed our time there. The resort strikes a nice balance between not being overly crowded or too small to get boring quickly. We didn't have trouble getting chairs or umbrellas, three different pools and a nice beach were enough variety for 5 days, and free snorkeling offshore was actually quite good (go the left side of the beach and swim away along the shore, lots of fish there. If you swim past the infinity pool to where the stationary platforms are you can see sunken helicopter and old cannon and a ton of fish - tours come there and fish is fed (may not be good for it, but they are all over, bumping into your mask). If you are swimming there off shore you can take a break at the little "hidden" rocky beach next to all this activity. The food was fine and enough variety for 5 days, but if you are a foodied there are better options elsewhere on the island. Among the resort restaurants that are part of the all-inclusive plan the big Oceans is the best, the one near the second pool was good for lunch but we didn't like their dinner food, and the Mexican place that you don't need a reservation for was also good. The staff for the most part was pleasant and helpful, no complaints. Bring small bills for tipping as the staff does not get the fill tip if you add it to your bill via room charge or credit card. However, what we found upsetting are the poor parrots! In addition to Gizmo who can fly in and out of his cage near the Gizmo restaurant, two beautiful parrots are locked in a dark cage permanently near the hotel mini mart. Those poor birds. Keeping them caged there indefinitely is just cruel. A staff member shared that they apparently used to be allowed to fly out but were too aggressive so now they are caged for good. There has to be a better solution for the birds though. There is a bird sanctuary on the island, maybe they can be moved there? Keeping them caged for life can't be the only or the best option. Every time we walked by them we were so sad. Tourists don't need to be "entertained" by seeing these two animals suffer. I hope the hotel will reconsider their arrangement for these parrots.

Not as good as it used to be to be.
We have been coming here for the past 20 years and it seems that the hotel it not what it use to be. In the beginning they weee all about making sure that the grounds were beautiful and your room was serviced. Now you have to call 2-3 times to get towels and trash dumped.
